THE BAR CRAWL BREAKDOWN
GETTING YOU READY FOR AN INCREDIBLE ICE BREAKER ON THE FIRST SEA DAY
LET'S GET THIS PARTY STARTED
ROSTER
The Bar Crawl will consist of 10 teams with each team having 12-16 passengers on the "roster". Your bar crawl team (if registered) will be printed on your name tag.
What's up with the teams? Smaller groups allow us to actually serve over 120 registered participants. Much like a golf tournament, we are all starting on a different watering "hole". This ensures the bar staff can take care of us while also giving you a chance to connect with your fellow passengers.
How are the groups formed? People in the same cabin stayed together, however groups traveling across multiple cabins may be on different teams. Every team has at least 2 Fan Cruise Veterans (2x guest) and/or All Star Sailors (3x guest).
But I really want to be with my friends! This is a great way to spend about 2-3 hours getting to know a few new people. Sometimes when a group of friends make up more than half a bar crawl team it can leave the others in the group feeling a bit left out.
But also, the most important thing is to keep group sizes at or below 16 so the bar staff can efficiently serve us. For my rule benders... There's not going to be anyone checking name tags to make sure you go where you're supposed to. If 2 people traded teams, nobody would ever know.
THE COMPETITION BEGINS
Is there a winning team? Well yeah! There are challenges to complete, fun to be had, and content to share. Feel free to message your fellow teammates! Maybe you have coordinated gear, fat head cut outs, beads, etc. There's a million great ways to show your team spirit.
The competition is a little like the old TV Show "Who's line is it anyways?" - there are points, but they don't truly matter. The fun you have is the key to the day.
Didn't register by the Nov 30 deadline? We've got room for you. Please message info@theastroslocker.com to get added to a team. Registration is $5 per person and all the funds go to St Jude Children's hospital during the Groove for St. Jude party.
TELL ME ABOUT THE DRINKS
Who's paying for this? All drinks are paid for using your Sail & Sign account. If you have the drink package, these will count towards your daily limit of 15 adult beverages. If you do not have the drink package, these will be charged a la carte at menu price + 18% gratuities.
Do I have to drink to participate? No! Drinking is in no way required. In fact, we need Designated Drivers to help keep us on track.
But if you want to drink... There is a suggested drink that the bartenders will have ready for us at each stop. Some stops will be drinks, others will be shots.
What if I don't like that drink? The bars on the ship will be set up to serve the suggested drinks at once specific spot. You can choose to skip the hole if you'd like, or you can head to the other end of the bar and order something from another bartender.
